If I asked you “what would you like to eat now?”, what would you answer? There is a 90% chance that you would say “Pizza”!
Pizza is one of the great favourites, popular all around the world. There are many stories, curious facts, discussions and theories about pizza: let’s look at three which you may not know about.
Pizza and Google. In the mid-1990s, before creating Google, Sergey Brin set up a service that allowed customers to order pizza using fax machines in restaurants. It was a flop that, as Sergey himself once said, taught him that people don’t always stick to their decisions. But if it had worked?! Maybe, today there would be no Google.
3D printers to make pizza. Anjan Contractor in Austin, Texas, received $125,000 from NASA to develop a prototype 3D printer able to make pizza, mixing some powdered ingredients and water. Will it succeed? Will it become the new astronaut kit for long-term missions? We shall see about that.
The most expensive pizza. Order two pizzas and pay 10,000 bitcoins? It happened in 2009 to programmer Laszlo Hanyecz. Today, 10,000 bitcoins are more or less 3 million Euros.
